One of the things I like most about the Crock Pot is that you can do without the use of oil in many of its recipes and, therefore, it is possible to reduce the calories of the elaborations. Facing a weight control diet this is wonderful, but it is also from a health point of view. The Provencal dumplings at Crock Pot today fall into this category of healthy, fat-free meals, so with them we ensure a rich meal with a sauce in which we can dip bread without regrets.

On some occasions I have prepared meatballs in the oven, where they are made faster, and also in Thermomix, cooking them in the varoma with the steam generated by the sauce in the glass, avoiding the frying of the meatballs. This is a new way of preparing fat-free Provencal meatballs and I would go so far as to say that my favorite. The sauce is tasty and the meatballs so juicy that no one would say that they have not gone through the pan

  • Sliced ​​sliced ​​bread 1
  • Eggs S 1
  • Dijon mustard 15 g
  • Provencal herbs 5 g
  • Granulated garlic 5 g
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Canned chopped tomato 400 g
  • Tomato concentrate 10 g
  • Sugar 5 g
  • Bread crumbs 30 g

How to Make Provencal Meatballs in Crock Pot

In a deep bowl, beat the egg together with the mustard, add a teaspoon of Provencal herbs, a teaspoon of ground garlic and season with salt and pepper. Add the slice of sliced ​​bread and work with a fork until obtaining a homogeneous porridge. Add the minced meat and mix well. We make balls with small portions of meat and we reserve them.

In the crockpot casserole we place the chopped tomato, the tomato concentrate, the rest of the Provencal herbs and the ground garlic and sugar. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with the breadcrumbs. Mix and place on it the minced meat balls that we have reserved until covering the surface.

We cover the casserole and we program the crockpot two hours at high temperature. During this time the sauce and the meat will be cooked at the same time so we save steps and do not dirty unnecessary pots. Once the meatballs are ready, we serve them immediately with some toasted almond slices (optional) on the surface.
