Chili con carne: Mexican recipe with and without Thermomix

Yesterday I explained that tortilla chips or corn tortillas is one of the best known Mexican dishes and can be used in many other preparations such as this chili con carne recipe, also called chili beans, which I explain to you with and without Thermomix.

I bought the beans or black beans already cooked, I just had to rinse them and drain them, but you can buy the dried vegetables and boil them at home, it will take a little longer but you will surely gain in flavor. In this case, remember to soak them the night before to soften them.

How to make Mexican chili con carne with and without Thermomix

Difficulty: easy
  • Total time 1 h 15 m
  • Elaboration 1 h 15 m

To make this recipe with Thermomix, peel the onion and put it in the glass, crushing it with two or three turbo strokes. Lower the remains that have remained on the walls into the glass, add the oil and program 8 min / 100º / speed 1. Add the garlic, the chilli and the cumin and mix 5 sec / speed 4. Add the minced meat and we cook 8 min / 100º / speed 1y 1/2.

Add the tomato, the herbs, the broth and the sugar and program 45 min / 100º / spoon speed. Add the drained beans and cook for 5 min / 100º / spoon speed, making sure that they do not melt too much. Sprinkle with chopped fresh coriander and serve with the tortilla chips.

To make this recipe without Thermomix, we peel the onion, mince it and put it in a saucepan with hot oil to brown it. When it is transparent, add the chopped garlic, the chilli and the cumin and give it a few laps. Add the minced meat, stir and leave it to cook until all the liquid from the meat has evaporated.

Add the tomato, the herbs, the broth and the sugar, stir and let it do with the uncovered casserole for half an hour or until the broth has practically evaporated. We incorporate the drained beans, let it cook for a few minutes all together and serve sprinkled with spicy coriander and accompanied by the tortilla chips.

With what to accompany the meat chili

This chili con carne recipe has the advantage that it can be prepared in advance and heated before serving. Accompany it with some tortilla chips, if you dare to make them yourself homemade, I advise you to prepare them just before tasting them, so that they are as crisp as possible.
