How to make delicious chicken breasts with tequila

Tequila is, without a doubt, the best-known and most widely used Mexican alcoholic beverage for the preparation of various cocktails as varied as Margarita or Tequila Sunrise, among many others. But this elixir is also very attractive for the preparation of salty recipes.

Today I propose this delicious recipe for tequila chicken breasts that are a true festival of flavor with very stimulating ingredients. To achieve this we will use tequila reposado and as additional ingredients we will add bacon that we will fry together with mushrooms and red onion.

  • Mushrooms 100 g
  • Crème fraîche 150 g
  • Purple Onion 0.5
  • Tequila reposado 200 ml
  • Butter 20 g
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

How to Make Tequila Chicken Breasts

To start we will chop the onion as well as the bacon. Heat the oil in a pan in which we fry the onion first for a couple of minutes. Then we add the bacon and the mushrooms. We leave about five minutes over medium low heat and add the chicken breasts. Season with salt and pepper.

At the end of the first 10 minutes, pour the tequila into the pan, flame and immediately add the crème fraiche. We mix those ingredients well. We lower the fire to a minimum and leave an additional 10 to 12 minutes. We serve hot.

What to accompany chicken breasts with tequila

I recommend serving these delicious chicken breasts to very hot tequila along with rice or pasta as well as some roasted vegetables. A glass of light red wine or amber beer will go perfectly with this plate full of stimulating flavors.
