Wine consumption of young people from Madrid
The consulting firm TNS has carried out a study in Madrid to find out how far the wine culture reaches among the young people of the capital. It seems that they are not the ones who least value such a masterful drink, since they surpass the young people of Andalusia, Murcia, Galicia or Asturias, although the figure is a bit low, 20% of Madrilenians between 25 and 35 years old consume wine regularly, while 53% consume it sporadically and 27% reject it.
They recognize that wine consumption is a social good, as it fosters relationships and gives a "glamorous" touch, which is why the "typical" consumer is found in upper-class men of about 28 years. Let's not pay too much attention, they are small statistics. It would be interesting to know what the rest are drinking, if they are in the "new fashion" of not consuming alcohol or if they prefer beer or other beverages. The report also informs us about consumption at the national level, which is around 18% of young people who regularly drink wine. As is normal, the first contact is in family gatherings, followed by relationships with friends, while once they reach 25 years, it is pleasure and responsible consumption that leads young people to enjoy wine.
Wine, even if we don't want it that way, is a difficult drink for young people, the best proof is that the older they are, the more habitual wine consumers they find.
Younger people prefer cloying sodas or stronger alcohol, a big mistake, but age and maturity are part of life. Anyway, don't be in a hurry, higher demand ... we know.
