At the end of last year, in the post, We Spaniards Think We Eat Well, we showed that the majority of Spaniards felt satisfied with their diet and that up to 88% of the Spanish population believed they were eating correctly. As we said then, one thing is to believe that you eat correctly and another that this is really so.

Today we know a piece of news that totally contrasts with the information offered by the European Eurobarometer, according to María Teresa García Jiménez, a nutritionist belonging to the National School of Health, 80% of the health problems that lead Spaniards to medical consultations, They are related to the bad diet that is carried out. Either the nutritionist does not know the real data or the Eurobarometer does not work correctly, we argue that the nutritionist is absolutely right. Information is one of the main aspects that can change the food situation and there is increasing information for consumers about what is healthy or unhealthy, new measures are also imposed such as the restriction of fraudulent advertising or the incorporation of information in the products.

Little by little the diet is redirected so that it is healthy and beneficial, perhaps in the near future it can be said that the Spanish diet is mostly healthy, but not at present.
