The consumption of cocoa lengthens life

Desserts

We have read another study in reference to cocoas, in it, they suggest the power to prevent diseases by their consumption. According to this study conducted in the Netherlands, cocoa consumption lengthens life, those who consumed cocoa were 50% less likely to die from disease. We assume that it refers mainly to heart disease, since they say that cocoa has the property of reducing blood pressure.

Don't miss this: The study was carried out with 470 people who were between 65 and 84 years old, of these, a third did not consume cocoa. After 15 years, 314 people died (logical), but those who were still alive, mostly were those who consumed cocoa regularly. And our question is, if they study an 80-year-old person, and they must wait 15 years for the results, what average age of life do they think we have? Those who did not consume cocoa were surely the oldest, since very few become centenarians.

Apart from surprising, these studies show different conclusions to those previously given in other studies, indicating that cocoa was not beneficial in preventing some heart diseases, especially due to its high content of calories, sugars, etc.

In any case, the author of the study assures that he still needs to do more studies so as not to draw hasty conclusions, because for a reliable study a general sample of the population of all ages must be used.

We are waiting for them to explain to us if cocoa really intervenes in our health and if its consumption influences longevity.
