The "Gold Star" classifies the participating wines, between those produced in the Old Continent (Europe) and the New World (America, Asia and Oceania), and also performs a segmentation of them with reference to the sale price to the public, being three categories: up to 8.14 and 20 euros, respectively.

Valmiñor was chosen as the best white wine from the old continent marketed in Ireland, less than 20 euros (top segment of the contest), according to NOFFLA (the National Off-License Association in the Republic of Ireland). Leading Irish food critics participate in the choice of these wines and the award-winning wines are prominently displayed in the Wine Shop, highlighting the award received.

In addition, Ribera del Duero “Ebano 6”, from Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas, a winery owned 100% by Adegas Valmiñor, was considered the best red wine in the world, in 2006, among those marketed in Ireland. Carlos Gómez, CEO of Adegas Valmiñor recalled that Adegas Valmiñor's objective is to market wine in a different way, with a well-defined maxim: quality, applying a technology that seeks the perfect pairing with traditional production. The winery has had a controlled growth, both nationally and internationally, which has allowed it to position itself as one of the most prominent among those that make up the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin.

This controlled growth means that the production of Adegas Valmiñor is around 500,000 bottles, which is grouped into two brands of the D.O. Rías Baixas: Albariño Valmiñor, Rosal Davila and Davila L-100, currently present in 25 countries on four continents.
