Red wine beef stew in Crock Pot. Fat Free Recipe

A most traditional dish that can be found in the kitchens of many countries around the world and that admits countless versions. Preparing beef stew with red wine in Crock Pot allows you to dispense with the oil in its preparation, something that I find wonderful and that is one more point in favor of this pot.   • Red wine 150 ml
  • Cornstarch express 15 g

How to Make Wine Stew in Crock Pot

Peel the onion, cut it in half and each half into thin strips (julienne). We remove the green part of the leek (which we can reserve for other elaborations) and cut the white part in two, longitudinally. Chop the leek and wash it well to remove the rest of the soil it may contain. We wash and peel the carrot and cut it into discs. We wash the tomato and cut it into quarters.

In the crockpot casserole place all the vegetables, starting with the onion that will serve as the base, and season with salt and pepper to taste. On the vegetables we place the veal in cubes, sprinkle it with the meat broth tablet and water with the red wine. We cover the casserole and we program six hours at low temperature.

After this time, remove the stew and sprinkle it with the cornstarch express. We program the crockpot again one more hour and at high temperature. It is not necessary to cover the casserole, because what we want is that the sauce thickens and takes consistency. We serve immediately with a garnish of mashed potatoes, white rice or similar.

What to accompany the beef stew with red wine in Crock Pot

As with all meats that require many hours of cooking, this red wine beef stew at Crock Pot is packed with flavors. The texture of the meat is mellow (it is important to buy a piece with infiltrated fat) and the strands detach from each other easily. Accompanying it with a garnish of creamy mashed potatoes or boiled rice is a success. Without forgetting the bread, of course.
