This is good news for the celiac group, since it will allow in a few years to improve the quality of life. A Spanish scientist has announced the development of a new drug that allows a celiac sufferer to, for the moment, enjoy a slice of bread with a normal gluten content on a daily basis.

The new drug allows to inhibit the permeability of the intestine, preventing gluten from entering the bloodstream. There is currently no remedy against gluten intolerance or celiac disease, therefore, the development of the new drug is emerging as one of the most important discoveries against this disease. As is often the case, the discovery of the molecule that slows down the passage of gluten was fortuitous and the result of an investigation that was being carried out with another disease.

Unfortunately, the celiac group will still have to wait a few years until all the tests that are planned to be carried out are completed before putting the new drug on the market. If it is possible to increase the effect and allow a celiac to feed normally, it will be a great success, problems such as the high price of food or the continuous vigilance on its composition can be avoided with complete peace of mind.
