Homemade strawberry ice cream without a refrigerator, easy and fat free recipe


I always say that I like a kitchen gadget more than a candy to a child, but when it comes to refrigerators I have always resisted buying one. And it is that this recipe for homemade strawberry ice cream without a refrigerator is the best example that this wonderful summer dessert can be prepared without having to complicate with another appliance.

The recipe is my mother's, which is already a guarantee of guaranteed success. When I was a child, my sisters and I loved this homemade ice cream, especially the afternoons when friends came to play and we knew that a special snack awaited us. In addition, it has so few ingredients and is so easy to prepare that it is enough to do it once to get hooked on it. You are warned: it creates addiction.

  • Water 120 ml
  • Sugar 100 g
  • Egg white 3
  • Lemon juice 1

Clean the strawberries, remove the stalk and chop them. Place all the ingredients in a tall glass and beat them well with the blender, until everything is reduced to a porridge. Divide into two ice buckets and freeze.

An hour and a half before taking it, put the ice cubes in the glass of a food processor (I did it with the Thermomix) and crush them. A creamy mixture will remain. Store in the freezer again for an hour to harden a bit, although if you want the texture of granita it can be served immediately.
