How to make homemade bones (and treat yourself)

The first chocolate bar I ate, many years ago, was a bone. I remember the moment as if it were yesterday. That combination of wafer and chocolate was so special to me that I became an unconditional fan of the bones instantly. Today I still am, despite the variety of bars on the market, that's why I enjoyed myself as a dwarf making homemade bones and indulging myself.

The thing is sucked. Preparing homemade bones is very easy. Anyone can make and surprise their own with this delicious sweet snack: layers of wafer and cocoa cream with hazelnuts covered in a chocolate bath. They are very grateful, so do not stop trying them. I will only give you one tip and that is that you do a lot because they will fly at lightning speed.

We lightly mix the cocoa cream with hazelnuts so that it is easier for us to spread it on the wafers. To do this, we heat it in the microwave or in a bain-marie. I have done it in the microwave, where I have heated it for 30 seconds. We remove the cream so that it acquires a homogeneous texture.

We took the wafers and reserved six of them. Spread the remaining 24 with cocoa cream and stack them four by four. We will obtain six piles, which we cover with the six wafers that we have reserved. We take them to the fridge to harden for 15 minutes, putting some weight on top (like milk cartons, for example).

At the end of this time, we cut each stack of wafers into three equal parts. Better if we use a serrated knife so that they come out perfect and going over the sides, in order to equalize the edges and that no wafer protrudes over the others.

Chop the chocolate and place it in a bowl along with the oil. We melt in the microwave with short blows of heat (30 seconds), to avoid burning. When it's ready, take each bar and dip it in the melted chocolate halfway. Drain the excess chocolate and place the bars on a smooth surface, with the bath on top.

Let cool in the fridge for 10-15 minutes so that the chocolate hardens. Next, we heat the leftover chocolate bath again in the microwave and bathe the bars on the part that is not covered. We can place the bars on a metal grid and water with the melted chocolate, using a spatula to cover the sides and letting the excess drain.

With which to accompany the homemade bones

Eating a single homemade bone is complicated, since they are so rich that the body will ask us for more. The texture is crisp and the flavor smooth, a winning combination. The best time for these homemade bones is the snack, especially if we accompany them with a glass of fresh milk fresh from the fridge.
