II Quince Festival, in Priego de Córdoba

A student of mine has sent me information these days ago, which I transmit to you, about the II Quince Festival, which is celebrated from October 17 to 26, 2008, in various towns in Cordoba, such as Carcabuey, Zagrilla and Priego de Córdoba.

Organized by the town councils of the area and the Hotel Huerta de las Palomas de Priego de Córdoba, it includes competitions, typical meals, conferences, tasting menus with quince and, what most catches my attention, a professional gastronomy conference "Cocina en Alive".

In these gastronomic days, to be held at the aforementioned hotel, on the 23rd and 24th, we will have the possibility of enjoying a quinces-based breakfast, a conference by José Oneto, gastronomic journalist, about the Quince in current cuisine and Live cooking demonstrations with tasting of dishes prepared by Juan Carlos Ramos, Francisco García, Víctor Gamero and Raúl Clemente, all renowned professionals, as well as demonstrations on the elaboration of artisan products.

In addition, you can taste a complete menu based on quinces for only € 15. You must register in advance at 957720305, before October 22.
