Green beans with sobrasada and almonds. Recipe

Today's recipe is very simple but it is one of those recipes that I am especially fond of because they remind me of my mother, Mallorcan. Lately I miss her a lot and the thing is that it's been a while since I saw her. When this happens to me, I make her recipes and that's how it is close to her and today it was the turn of these green beans with sobrasada and almonds.

By the way, I kill two birds with one stone because several have already asked me what to do with the sobrasada apart from spreading it on bread, which of course is a good option but it serves as a condiment in many recipes, do not hesitate in using it. The trick is not to abuse so that it does not make the dish, something heavy, gives an exquisite taste and color.

Ingredients

  • 400 gr of fresh green beans, 2 slices of sobrasada, 2 cloves of garlic and 100 gr of marcona almond. Salt to taste.

How to make green beans with sobrasada and almonds

The first thing is to remove the ends of the green beans (the tails) and cut them into 3 or 4 pieces, depending on how long they are. In a container with water and salt we put them to cook until they are tender (between 10-15 minutes). What I usually do is once cooked is to quickly transfer them to a bowl with cold water so that the cooking stops and they remain green, green.

Peel the garlic and chop it. We put them to brown with a little olive oil in a pan. Next, we add the crumbled sobrasada and then the crushed marconas almonds. We remove everything well until the sobrasada begins to undo.

Finally we add the green beans and stir well so that they are impregnated with the flavor of the previous additives. Let cook for a few minutes over medium low heat.
