Katara, taste of the Amazon
Katara is a typical hot sauce from the Venezuelan Amazon. It is made by the indigenous people with chili peppers, and bachaco (ferocious giant ant from the Amazon jungle) as the main ingredients. The texture of this spicy is grainy and has aphrodisiac qualities. The itching sensation is produced by the poison used by the bachaco to defend itself.
