The airline that makes its own cookies
A few weeks ago, I listened to the interview they did with the communication manager of Midwest Airlines as a result of the results of a worldwide survey where different airlines in the world were scored for quality, and this airline was in first place to despite being a company that basically operates in the US. By the way Iberia was in the last places and the list was quite large.
I was very curious about one of the services they provide in all their lines. When the destination approaches, they take out trays of freshly baked cookies on the plane itself. It is the typical cookie with chocolate chips, which in the US is: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
It all started in 1986 when an employee on a charter flight was testing different snacks, and it was so successful that they decided to do it as a very personal brand of the airline itself. In fact, the cookie has been a brand that united its customers against AirTran for taking control of Midwest Airlines. They even have a microsite for this purpose: Save the cookie.
Today cookies are even sold in Texas markets pre-cooked, that is, ready to cook at home. The same cookies that are served on airplanes. A hallmark of identity.
