Legumes gain ground in our diet
In the 60s, around 9 kilos of legumes were consumed per person per year, but since then it has been declining little by little, until it almost fell into oblivion, last year only 4.2 kilos were consumed. According to experts, this was due to the economic bonanza that began to be felt from then on.
Lentils, chickpeas and beans had been considered unwanted relatives in our kitchen and installed on the table of poor relatives.
But thanks to this, more than our named crisis, the sale and consumption of legumes have increased by 10% so far this year, this being the first time that has happened in 50 years.
All things considered, there is no harm that for good does not come, thanks to the crisis we recover them from oblivion, we rescue the forgotten recipes of our grandmothers and we give them the place they deserve in our diet, we will have gained a cheap, tasty and rich source of protein, fiber and fat free.
