Vegetables and fruits protect the heart
Honestly, it is nothing new that fruit and vegetables are very healthy for our body. However, what they have just shown is that there is a direct relationship between the consumption of fruit and vegetables and the reduction in mortality from heart disease.
The study, in which Spanish citizens have also participated, concludes that for each daily serving of these foods, the risk of suffering a heart attack decreases by 5%. A figure that in women can reach up to 15%.
It is not really known if it is because of the antioxidant micronutrients present in fruits and vegetables or because of the varied diet of the people who participated in this study. For whatever reason, let's follow the recommendations and eat five servings a day.
