Gold Medal of the International Wine & Spirits Competition for Canarian wine, El Grifo Canari
Perhaps the somewhat forgotten wines are those made in the Canary Islands, but the international recognition of some Canarian wines may change this situation. El Grifo Winery, located on the island of Lanzarote, has obtained the Gold Medal of the International Wine & Spirits Competition with the El Grifo Canari wine.
It is a sweet wine that, judging by the blend that makes it up, must be truly seductive for the palate, various wines from the 1956, 1970 and 1997 vintages have formed El Grifo Canari, a wine made by one of the most traditional wineries of the islands, it is currently considered one of the ten oldest in Spain.
Its long tradition and experience in the elaboration of wines has made it deserving on several occasions of awards that sign its prestige and reputation. The recently won Gold Medal does nothing but certify the dedication and dedication in the production of wines with character and quality, capable of conquering the most demanding oenological palates. This is one of the wines that we sign up for in our next acquisitions book, according to the tasting note provided by the winery, it is a very clean and bright wine with a great aromatic load that evokes, among others, nuts or licorice.
In the mouth it is round and with a soft sweetness, but the tasting note will be much more personal the moment we enjoy the characteristics that this wine offers.
Its price is about 16 euros and there are several points of sale in the peninsula that are provided through the official website of the winery, although it can also be purchased online.
