Steamed mussels with paprika from La Vera: quick and easy recipe


Mussels are a good food, as they provide us with proteins, minerals such as iron, phosphorus or calcium, vitamins of group B, especially folates and other nutrients. They are also a delicious snack, an easy and fast recipe, cheap and low in fat. The steamed mussels "de La Vera" are perfect for the January slope and for weight control diets.

How to steam "de La Vera" mussels

We wash and clean the mussels. If we follow these tips, they are perfect and require little effort. We put them in a saucepan. We squeeze the lemon and water the mussels with its juice. Sprinkle with a level teaspoon of spicy La Vera paprika (if we don't like spicy, use sweet paprika).

Next we add the extra virgin olive oil, a teaspoon is enough, and we stir the whole so that all the mussels are impregnated with the seasonings. Cover the saucepan and cook over medium heat for a few minutes, just long enough for the valves to open. Serve with a little chopped parsley.
