The donuts themselves are a complete loss for sweet lovers, and somewhat cumbersome to prepare due to the leavening and frying phases. Preheat the oven to 180ºC or prepare the mini donut machine according to the instructions. Melt the butter and beat it by hand with the brown sugar. Add the applesauce, the egg and the milk, beating well together.
Mix in a separate bowl the flour with all the spices, yeast and baking soda. Add the wet ingredients and mix gently until a homogeneous mass is obtained. It should be slimy but not too runny. Bring the cavities of the molds and bake or cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until they are well browned.
Let cool on a rack. Meanwhile mix in a bowl the honey with the necessary icing sugar until you get a thick paste. Paint the surface of the mini donuts with it until and let dry.
