Chocolate mousse with whiskey: recipe for an adult whim

If you are looking for a dessert option for any occasion this holiday season, I am going to propose my version of a delicious whiskey chocolate mousse recipe. This option is suitable for all chocolate lovers with a touch of * hisky aroma that gives it something different and special.

The whiskey chocolate mousse recipe is quite basic and easy to prepare as it does not require much manipulation. You can also prepare it a day before, store it cold and offer it to your guests simply by taking it out of the fridge a few minutes before tasting it.

For 4 people
  • Dark chocolate 200 g
  • Egg 2
  • Whiskey 30 ml
  • Butter 150 g
  • Egg white 3
  • Sugar 100 g
  • Creme Fraiche or fresh cream 100 g

How to make chocolate mousse to whiskey

Difficulty: easy
  • Total time 30 m
  • Elaboration 25 m
  • Cooking 5m
  • Repose 3 h

We will melt the chocolate together with the butter either in a water bath or directly on the fire in a pot preferably with Teflon coating. It is important to permanently stir the mixture as it melts with a wooden spatula. When it is ready we remove from the fire and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes to cool slightly.

Now we are going to add to the previous mixture the fresh cream, the eggs and the sugar little by little and beating with an electric mixer. Finally we add the whiskey and stir everything again very well.

We assemble the egg whites until stiff. When we obtain a very firm consistency, we carefully incorporate it into the chocolate preparation. We pour the ready mousse into a glass mold or individual glasses and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours before serving. We can decorate with chocolate chips or whatever you like the most.

With what to accompany the chocolate mousse with whiskey

I recommend serving the chocolate mousse with whiskey very cold and with a black coffee it tastes even better. As I mentioned at the beginning, you can prepare it in advance and store it in the refrigerator for a day or two maximum as long as you leave it in a tightly covered container. If black coffee does not suit you for this dessert, you can taste it with a glass of sparkling white wine or very cold dry white wine.
