Fake seafood mousse. Recipe


When Christmas approaches, especially those of us who come to eat or have dinner at our house, a kind of countdown begins trying to think which menu will be the most appropriate, which suits most tastes and why not. That is economical and we do not leave our wallets in the supermarket. I think the fake seafood mousse that I present to you today will solve a starter, within the rest you put, because its ingredients, even when buying high quality, still have an affordable price, it is prepared quickly and we can have it ready in the fridge so as not to have to work both the day for dinner or lunch.

In this special anti-crisis Christmas we will bring you colorful dishes that are not too expensive. Afterwards, only your personal touch remains to make them attractive to the eye, but of course, even without ornaments, the flavor of this mousse is delicious.

Ingredients for four mousse

  • 1 can of tuna in quality oil of approximately 115 g of net weight, 2 surimi sticks, 1 L-size egg, 1 teaspoon of fried tomato coffee, 140 g of evaporated milk, ¾ of a slice of crustless bread, 1 teaspoon brandy, a few toasted bread rolls, salt, 8 frozen prawns, mayonnaise and chopped chives for garnish.

How to make fake seafood mousse

In the glass of a blender, add the drained tuna, the egg, the evaporated milk, the fried tomato, the surimi sticks, the sliced ​​bread, the brandy and a pinch of salt. Blend everything well with a mixer.

Divide the batter into four silicone muffin cups. Put in the microwave for seven minutes at 600 W. Check that they are set. If not, give 30-second intervals more at the same power. Let cool a little in the molds, unmold them onto a plate and put them in the fridge covered until ready to serve. If you do not have silicone molds, make them in ramekins greased with a little butter, here the cooking time may take a few minutes, check it.

Bring some salted water to a boil, add the frozen prawns and cook for 10 minutes. Peel and reserve to decorate.

This faux seafood mousse is served on individual plates with a few toasted bread to spread. Place two prawns on top of each mousse, sprinkle with chopped chives and make a few decorating lines with mayonnaise or cocktail sauce.
