Pip & pop, the fantasy world created with sugar
Need I tell you how much my niece opened her eyes when I showed her Pip & Pop, the fantasy world created with sugar? He loved it, of course, and had no time to ask me if he could visit it. Too bad that we were caught "a little" far away, as this spectacular setting was born from the collaboration of two Australian artists: Tanya Schultz and Nicole Andrijević.
The truth is that it is spectacular to contemplate the details with which the authors make their colorful sugar tapestries, which recall mythological lands and fairy tales. The work of Pip & Pop, the pseudonym Schultz and Adndrijevic work under, has been very successful and has been exhibited around the world. Don't miss his beautiful photographs in the link at the bottom of the page.
Pip & Pop's fantasy worlds are inspired by tales and myths from around the world. One of his favorite stories is that of the mythical land of Jauja, with streets paved with cakes, houses made of cakes and sugar, and skies that rain cheeses. Another story is the Inca story 'In search of the magic lake', located in an impressive landscape, where the sky is submerged in water and a liquid with healing powers turns out.
Pip & Pop has conquered me, the fantasy world created with sugar. I like the wink that, with sugar, sweets and candies, is made to childhood. The vibrant and psychedelic colors stimulate the imagination in stories that can unfold in those settings. Do you think they can be eaten later?
