Chicken gratin with Provolone: recipe
For lovers of gratin cheese, for those who do not imagine a world without cheese and for all those who if they could put cheese on everything they eat, today I propose a recipe with chicken. A chicken gratin that is wonderful, since we are going to do it with this magnificent Italian cheese that is Provolone.
Today's recipe is for a Provolone chicken gratin that combines a fairly neutral white meat with a cheese full of flavor and which is one of my favorites to gratin. As you can see, the preparation is quite simple and fast, so this dish is perfect if you need an alternative to something with a lot of flavor and without complications.

Let's first remove eventually the fat from the chicken breast and then cut it in two lengthwise, so that we can open it. Then we season it with the aromatic herbs, salt and black pepper. We cut the Provolone cheese into not very thin sheets since we want the whole to have body. Finally we are going to cut the bell pepper in about five centimeters long.
We place the open breast in a baking dish greased with a little butter. We place the cheese and the pepper on the chicken, in the central part of it. We cut the butter into pieces that we spread on the source. Bake at 180ºC for about 25 to 30 minutes. I recommend moistening the chicken with the butter a few times during cooking.

I recommend serving this delicious chicken gratin with Provolone with rice or pasta, as well as with roasted vegetables. A cold dry white wine would pair well with this dish as well as an amber beer. Another way to eat it quickly is to place the chicken on a crispy baguette and take it with you for a picnic.
