Presentation of Andalusian products in Japan


The Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Science, through Extenda the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion, has organized a presentation of Andalusian products in Tokyo for the seventh year. There are 68 Andalusian companies that have been presented this year to a large number of visitors, especially importers, commercial agents, distributors, specialized press and professionals from the restaurant and hospitality sector.

In the different stands they offered to taste Iberian ham, sausages, wines, olive oil, olives, pastries or fruit and vegetable preserves, among many other products. One of the star events of this show consisted of an olive oil tasting, where 12 brands from 10 companies participated. The objective of this type of event is to publicize the products among Japanese chefs so that they begin to differentiate the quality and quality of the products.

It is not the only action that has been held this year in the country and it will not be the last. It is planned that for the month of July a seminar-contest for Andalusian ham cutting will be held, where a cutting exam will also be carried out, to ensure that there are official and certified professional cutters in the country.

As a curiosity, to say that Cádiz is the Andalusian province that exports the most to Japan, followed by Seville and that among the products that most fall in love with the Japanese public are olive oils, Jerez wines and Jabugo ham.

If we take into account that Andalusia accounts for more than a fifth of all Spanish exports to Japan, it seems that these promotions give the desired results.
