Creamy tomato rice recipe


I was going to make a risotto but since I didn't have risotto rice and I didn't want to make a fake either, in the end I declined for a full-blown creamy rice, today tomato.

The difference is basically that the last few minutes, when the rice is almost done, we add liquid cream. It's that simple, we get a very tasty rice.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 300 g of rice, 100 ml of cream, 6 ripe tomatoes, 1/2 onion, 1 garlic, olive oil and salt.

How to make creamy tomato rice

We make a bottom with the finely chopped onion and garlic. We poach them in a saucepan with a little olive oil.

Add half of the peeled tomato without seeds. We stir and add the rice, sauté for about 30 seconds.

Little by little we will add hot water or short vegetable broth. When it is almost done, add the cream and the rest of the tomato. We stir and serve once it is ready.

We serve creamy rice with tomato, we can serve it as a first course or as a garnish for some fish or meat.
