Broccoli, pear and blue cheese dumplings recipe, a soft, original and surprising snack

The #daysof on twitter are quite an event and En Directo al Paladar we could not miss this appointment. This time, "empanadillas". And on this occasion, I am in charge of representing Directo al Paladar in the # díadelaempanadilla and for this I have prepared this recipe for broccoli, pear and blue cheese empanadillas.

I love pears paired with blue cheese. Just as foie combines with figs, in my head, blue cheese combines with pear. I have always loved the contrasts, although in today's recipe I have preferred not to abuse it and I have added broccoli as a neutral element. The result is smooth and surprising. Do not stop trying them.

For 2 persons
  • Broccoli 200 g
  • Crumbled blue cheese 50 g
  • Conference pear, diced 1
  • Dumplings (wafers) 1 container
  • Extra virgin olive oil for frying

How to Make Broccoli, Pear, and Blue Cheese Dumplings

Difficulty: Easy
  • Total time 25 m
  • Elaboration 15 m
  • Cooking 10 m

First of all, chop the broccoli. To do this, with a knife go to the base of the broccoli twigs and make a cut. You will see how it crumbles. Then we put it in a microwave-safe container and sprinkle it with a little EVOO and a pinch of salt. We cover it and program five minutes on the micro. If you have a steamer, better than better.

Then we stretch the wafers on a smooth surface and put, in each one, a little of that cooked broccoli, a few pieces of pear and a little crumbled blue cheese. Fold the wafer in half and seal the dumpling with a fork.

Heat plenty of oil in a frying pan and fry the dumplings over medium heat until golden brown. Be careful, they burn very fast, eh! We drain on absorbent paper before serving.
