Onion syrup recipe, for cough

Every day we are all exposed to currents, sudden changes in temperature, etc. that can make us cool and catch a good cold. It happened to me this weekend and I can't stop coughing.

I am not in favor of taking medicine unless it is strictly necessary, so I have used my particular "alimentary therapy" and I have prepared this recipe for onion syrup, for cough, which I present to you today.

Ingredients for 2 days.

1 onion, the juice of 2 lemons, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 ginger root.

Elaboration.

Chop the onion and put it in a container together with the lemon juice, honey and grated ginger, stir and let it rest for 10 minutes, covered with a plate on top.

After this time the onion will have sweated and the syrup will begin to cover the surface, from this moment and for 2 days (after 2 days we will have to prepare another), the syrup will take effect. We strain it and drink it in small sips, during the day. The effect is quick, soothes the throat and ends the annoying cough.

Be careful to strain only the one you are drinking, the rest keep it covered since the onion will continue to sweat and the syrup will grow.

Tasting.

I personally like to serve myself a glass of syrup, in a brandy balloon glass, so it is richer and its effect is faster (psychology I suppose).

I hope you do not need to prepare this recipe for onion cough syrup, but if you or your children find themselves in need (which curiously they usually love), I hope it will take effect soon. Remember that this syrup has no contraindications or side effects, yet do not forget that if you are sick you should go to your family doctor, these natural remedies are only to help with minor ailments.
