Chocolate caramel mousse recipe

Sunday afternoon, bored at home, nothing to do but a million things that can wait for tomorrow or the next. Then what do we do? Easy, a caramel chocolate mousse recipe.

And it is that to make a dessert as rich and sweet as this I think that many excuses are not needed. By the way, at the end of the recipe, I didn't know what decoration to put on it and then the disastrous 13th street menu that I had the great opportunity to eat a month ago came to mind.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 90 g of powdered sugar (I imagine that the normal one also works), 400 ml of whipping cream, 30 g of butter, 85 g of chocolate (55% cocoa). To decorate about 100 grams of sugar.

Preparation of the caramel chocolate mousse

We whip the cream, if you need some tricks you can see this post: How to whip cream or how to make whipped cream. Recipe.

On the other hand we make caramel with powdered sugar. We remove so that all the grains that are sticking are undone. When it has a golden color, remove from the heat and add two tablespoons of the whipped cream and the butter very carefully in case it jumps. My advice is that you do it with long sleeves in case it splashes and so it doesn't burn you, since sugar burns are the worst.

We chop the chocolate in a bowl and gradually add the caramel, stir so that all the chocolate is completely dissolved. Add to the whipped cream when it is warm and stir well.

Processing time | 30 minutes
Difficulty | Half

To finish we make the decoration, in this case we make caramel with the sugar. We put this caramel on baking paper and spread. When it is half cooled we make a few cuts with the knife so that later it is easier to cut and make pieces.

We serve the caramel chocolate mousse in glasses and let it cool. At the time of serving at the table we add the decoration. I hope you like it as much as I do.
