Ham and Mushroom Pizza Recipe

If pizza is one of the most adapted and reproduced Italian specialties in the world, there is no doubt that there is a notable difference between those made at home and the other, industrial ones, that we can order at home. Beyond being made with more natural ingredients, homemade pizzas can correspond more exactly to our tastes.

Today we propose you this ham and mushroom pizza recipe. It is a great classic that cannot be missing from all our cookbooks. Although it is not a very complicated recipe to make, the secret lies in the homemade preparation of the dough. If today we can find ready-made pizza doughs in most supermarkets, nothing compares them to a dough made in our kitchen, kneaded with our own hands.

For 2 persons
  • Force flour 250 g
  • Dry baker's yeast 10 g
  • Salt 5 g
  • Sunflower oil 10 ml
  • Concentrated tomato 100 g
  • York ham 150 g
  • Mozzarella cheese 100 g
  • Mushrooms 200 g
  • Olives optional
  • Fine Herbs To taste

How to Make Ham and Mushroom Pizza

Difficulty: Medium
  • Total time

To start, we are going to prepare the dough and for this we will put the 250g of strong flour in a bowl together with the yeast, salt, and oil. We stir and add the warm water little by little. With the hand we knead until obtaining a consistent dough. We place it in a clean bowl that we cover with a dry cloth and let it rest for about 40 minutes. When the kneading has doubled its volume, we knead the dough again for about five minutes to give it the desired shape according to the mold that we are going to use.

We cover the mold with non-stick paper and place the pizza dough. We spread the tomato puree and then the fine herbs. We cut the ham into slices that we place on the pizza. We peel the mushrooms, we also cut them into slices that we add to the above. Then we add the mozzarella cheese, some green olives and bake for about 25 minutes, at 180ºC.

With what to accompany the ham and mushroom pizza

The best way to enjoy this delicious homemade ham and mushroom pizza is, of course, very warm, along with a cold beer or a glass of red wine. You can also taste it warm and even cold if you prefer. If you need to reheat it, I recommend doing it for a few minutes in the traditional oven.
