Chicken with streaky bacon and wine sauce, a recipe for take bread and dip


This chicken recipe with streaky bacon and wine sauce is one of those that, if you prepare a little in advance and let the ingredients rest, you win a lot. At home we all liked it, and the resulting sauce is so tasty that, if you prepare it, it will seem that you are not doing enough.

The streaky bacon gives this dish a very tasty contrast to the chicken. It is worth using a quality red wine so that the final result is perfect. If you dare to do it, prepare a good slice of bread to scrape down to the last drop of sauce.

  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • Red wine 250 ml
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Chicken broth or water 500 ml
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt

How to Make Streaky Bacon Chicken with Wine Sauce

We start by seasoning the chicken pieces. Afterwards, we heat the butter in a deep pot, add the chicken and brown it, turning it from time to time so that all the pieces are well impregnated with the butter.

Add the onions and bacon, cooking for about 10 minutes until they turn color. Add the mushrooms and garlic, stir for a few minutes until they release the water.

At this point, we add the flour and stir well so that it is integrated. Add the red wine, tomato sauce and sugar, stir and bring to a boil. We add the broth and the water and let it boil again.

We lower the heat until the liquid just boils, cover the pot and cook for about 50 minutes. We rectify the salt, check the doneness and place the chicken, vegetables and bacon in a source. We add a tablespoon of flour and beat it. Serve the chicken washed down with the sauce.
