Beef and mushroom ragout or stew recipe with soy sauce and cream

Today we are going to prepare a tasty and very simple recipe with ingredients that we usually always have at home. It is a stew, stew or ragout of veal and mushrooms with soy sauce and cream, which will undoubtedly come in handy to feed the whole family, without spending much on the ingredients.

It is a very easy recipe to make, which you can also adapt or tune with the ingredients that you have at home or with those that you can get in these difficult days. For example, the meat can be veal, pork or you can even substitute it for pieces of chicken breast.

The cream can be replaced by evaporated milk or coconut milk or any other vegetable oat or almond drink. As for the mushrooms, you can use mushrooms, preserved mushrooms or dried mushrooms as I have done.

Ingredients

For 4 people
  • Veal (needle or meat to cook) 500 g
  • Liquid cream for cooking 300 ml
  • Soy sauce 25 ml
  • Onion 1
  • Carrot 2
  • Garlic clove 1
  • Meat broth 200 ml
  • Dried, fresh or frozen mushrooms 100 g

How to make beef and mushroom ragout with cream and soy sauce

We start by poaching a minced garlic, a julienned onion and two carrots in thin sticks, directly in the saucepan where we are going to cook this dish. While they are done, we are cleaning the meat from the greasy and tern that it may have and cutting it into bite-size pieces. Next, add the meat to the casserole and stir until it changes color.

Add the broth and soy and let it mix cooking for five minutes, then adding the liquid cream. Let it cook in the cream for 35 minutes, adding a little broth if necessary so that they do not run out of liquid. As it cooks, the sauce will evaporate and take on a darker color.

We rehydrate some mushrooms, -if we don't have them fresh- and after cooking we add them to the stew, including the liquid to rehydrate them, which will provide a lot of flavor. We test to see if the pieces of meat are already tender and if necessary we continue cooking until it is to our liking. Then we turn off the heat, letting it rest for 30 minutes before eating.
