2001 Señorío de Lazán Special Reserve
The Pirineos Winery located in Huesca has just presented its new Reserva Especial 2001 wine from Señorío de Lazán, a highly anticipated wine since since 1979 a Special Reserve has only been made a couple of times.
Señorío de Lazán presents excellent wines, but it is now that an unbeatable wine has been presented, corresponding to the 2001 harvest, the year in which the key factors that provided an optimal harvest were combined.
There are 192,300 existing bottles to supply the hospitality market and specialized oenology shops at a price of around 16 euros.
The wine has three varieties of grape, Tempranillo (70%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet (10%), the Merlot variety has been included in this vintage in an exceptional way. Its aging for 14 months in French oak barrels (mostly) and American (20%) has also been especially careful and different from the traditional reserve.
Careful monitoring of the evolution of the wine has been carried out by performing frequent tastings. From the barrel it went to the bottle where it has remained for 3 years and now we are presented with a magnificent wine that will undoubtedly be praised. The winery has indicated that the information on this Special Reserve will be available on its website shortly and as soon as we can prove it, we will make our own tasting note.
