The quality of Greek wines is being recognized by many countries around the world. During the last 25 years, the Kourtakis company, which produces the wines of the same name, has become the largest producer and bottler of Greek wine, owning vineyards in the most important wine regions of the country, Athens, Island of Crete, Islands of the Aegean Sea, etc.

We did a tasting of some of their wines, but one in particular caught our attention, the Retsina of Attica, a soft white wine that fit perfectly, the stand representative at the Alimentaria Hall explained that this particular wine is a brand leader in Greece and one of the best Greek wines.

Its label is yellow to distinguish it from other wines, it has a Denomination of Origin and within the Greek region of Attica, it is one of the best known. Although there are also other fabulous wines from the same house such as Samos or red Kouros. The latter would be ideal to start with a good barbecue. A single variety of grape is used to make it, the savatiano. In other regions to produce a retsina type wine they use any type of grape and even mix them, unlike the Retsina of Attica.

The representative explained to us that at the moment it was not marketed in Spain and that they were looking for a distributor, although if we want to buy a bottle, we just have to go to one of the Greek Taverns or the Greek store in Barcelona.
