Taste Spain: what it is, what it is for and who finances it


Taste Spain is a national platform with an international vocation to promote tourism and gastronomy. It is made up of the Spanish Hospitality Federation (FEHR), the Spanish Association of Destinations for the Promotion of Gastronomic Tourism, the European Organization of Cooks (Euro-Toques), the Federation of Associations of Cooks and Pastry chefs of Spain (FACYRE) and Paradores of Tourism.

These five heavyweights in the field of gastronomy in our country work together with the purpose of transforming the gastronomic product into a unique and specialized experience of high value. A different way of getting to know Spain, a special way of savoring each trip that goes beyond gastronomic tourism.

On the one hand it represents important tourist areas of the country from a gastronomic point of view: Andalusia, Aragon, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Navarra, Rioja and the Valencian Community. And, on the other hand, to the private sector of the world of hospitality: more than 320 hospitality establishments throughout Spain, led by the most relevant chefs in the country.

In recent months, Saborea España has represented Spanish gastronomy in the main European markets, carrying out promotional actions aimed at both other professionals in the gastronomic sector and the final public. Countries such as France, Germany, England, Italy and the Nordic countries have served as a stage and platform to spread the rich Spanish gastronomy.

One of the most relevant actions carried out by this platform is the dissemination of the concept "tapa", the star of our gastronomic heritage. With the aim of claiming it as a hallmark of the Spanish gastronomy offer, an affordable format that allows the public to enjoy it in all its splendor and without breaking the bank.

Savor Spain is made up of 18 destinations that offer a trip for the palate full of contrasts and flavor. A Coruña, Badajoz, Cambrils, Ciudad Real, Denia, Lanzarote, Logroño, Madrid, Pamplona, ​​Salamanca, San Carles de la Ràpita, Segovia, Seville, Tenerife, Trujillo, Valencia, Valladolid, Vinaròs and Zaragoza.

Wines from Logroño, farinato from Badajoz, aromatic oil and anchovies from Cambrils, traditional sweets from Denia, ham from Segovia, roe deer from Ciudad Real, legumes or loquat liquor from Lanzarote, farinato and oils olive from Salamanca, deer jerky from Ciudad Real, tapas from Valladolid and / or Seville, XL cockles from A Coruña and the cultivation of Lanzarote's own jable.
