You already know how much I like salmon and one of the reasons is because it is a fish that can be prepared in a thousand and one ways. Whether grilled, glazed with teriyaki sauce, -I love that recipe-, on skewers, taking it raw in sashimi or cooked in the oven with the easiest recipe in the world, this healthy blue fish is always delicious. Today I am going to tell you how I prepare it at this time when we are concerned about taking care of the line. This is the recipe for salmon baked in papillote, a way of cooking fish in its own steam, achieving a very smooth texture and an intense flavor.

In the papillote we will cook the vegetables for the garnish at the same time, giving out what you have in the fridge. Pepper, onion and carrot go very well, but you can also use zucchini, eggplant or whatever you like the most. You can prepare this recipe by making packages or foil with parchment paper or parchment paper or by using the comfortable steam cases or silicone foil which are very practical since you can use them both in the conventional oven and in the microwave oven. Then I indicate the times for both types of cooking.

How to make baked salmon en papillote

The first thing we need is to cut all the vegetables that we are going to use to make the salmon in the papillote. Ideally, cut all of them into sticks or strips of similar size. The julienne cut is valid for peppers, carrots or onion, and for almost all the vegetables that we can use.

If we have a silicone case, we put the cut vegetables at the bottom. Add a pinch of salt, a dash of white wine, a dash of olive oil and a dash of water. If we do not have a case, we have to do it with greaseproof paper. We cut a piece of approximately 60x30 cm and fold it in half. We put the vegetables on one side and season it.

Then we place the salmon cut into pieces of about 50 or 60 g on the vegetables, proceeding to close the silicone case or close the baking paper case by means of folds that ensure that it will be more or less hermetic.

If you cook it in the microwave oven, it will take about 4 minutes at maximum power. If you use the conventional oven, it must be preheated to 200ºC and then it will be necessary to have the papillote in the oven for approximately 15 minutes. Be careful when opening the package that the vapors can cause burns.
