Second Jerez Cup, Second International Contest of Gastronomic Pairings with Sherry Wines

On January 11th, a very special gastronomic event will take place at the Jerez Professional Hospitality School, it is the Second Jerez Cup, a contest attended by the best sommeliers and chefs in the world. The grand final of the Second International Contest of Gastronomic Pairings with Sherry Wines will be held in search of the best pairing with the good wines offered by this Denomination of Origin.

Couples formed by a chef and a sommelier of 8 nationalities, are the finalists of an extensive competition that has been developed throughout the year 2006 and that has included more than 2,000 restaurants around the world, each couple in the competition is a representation of what best in the country. A grand jury made up of characters such as Heston Blumenthal, Doug Frost or Makoto Abe among others, must assess the menus presented by the finalists. We miss the presence of the great master Ferrán Adrià, his partner will be present in his place. Undoubtedly, the event contributes to promoting Jerez wines and gastronomy, making its international presence even more noticeable.
