Visit to the Buil & Giné wineries
With all the stress and burden that we dragged along all week, this Sunday at home we decided to do something different, taking advantage of the fact that we had a sunny day. We searched the internet for something interesting to do and we saw that in the heart of Priorat, a beautiful land of wines, we found the young Buil & Giné wineries.
These wineries were inaugurated a few years ago, they were designed and built thinking of uniting, on the one hand, the wine-making process and, on the other, visits from the public. So we stood up to the cold and organized a little family outing to the winery.
Already in Gratallops de Tarragona, we located the winery on the road that leads to Vilella Baixa. As soon as you get out of the car, you start to enjoy the magnificent surroundings. The visit begins immediately, they explain the history of the region, the winery, the characteristics of the soil, the cultivation of grapes in that area and the properties that these confer on the wine.
We continue taking a walk, while we see a few vineyards, inside the rooms dedicated to restoration and meeting and event rooms, to immediately go down to the winery, while we saw the facilities, they explain to us what is the production process, aging , packaging and even labeling.
The visit ended with a tasting of three of the house's wines, a Giné Rosat, a Giné Giné and a Joan Giné. Three wines with very different characteristics. The Giné Rosat is a dry rosé wine made with Grenache and Merlot, of an intense and bright pink color, very fresh with a fruity finish. Giné Giné is a dry Garnacha and Cariñena wine, ruby in color and with earthy aromas. Joan Giné is another 12-month dry red, made with Garnacha, Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The winery, in addition to offering us the possibility of buying any of its wines, having some offers for the taste packs, offers us a series of gourmet and artisan products, such as jams of different flavors, honey, quince paste, almonds and salted hazelnuts. or caramelised, olives, oil and vermouth, from the Priorat Natur brand.
As you can see between one thing and another, we managed to spend a different and fun morning in a natural environment, learning a lot about wines and tasting them. I hope to repeat the experience very soon.
