World Tapa Day is back
Last year an event was born that wanted to serve as a unifying axis on one of our most characteristic gastronomic features, the tapa. As my colleague Liliana told you last year in the article she published when World Tapa Day was born, it is part of our culture and is one of the elements most recognized by tourists who come to our country.
Given the proliferation of activities and tapas contests throughout our geography, World Tapa Day arrived to unify all these festive manifestations in a single event. Like last year, the second edition is intended to take place on September 29, which is also World Tourism Day.
We will not have to wait that long, since, although World Tapa Day is celebrated on the 29th, throughout the month of September there will be many activities around tapas, such as tapas tours, photography contests and shows cuisine of the greatest chefs in the country.
In many parts of our geography they have begun to work on it by presenting their own routes. Thus, in San Sebastián they have prepared their Pintxos route, in Segovia there will be tapas and cocktails, in Pamplona the Cazuelica week is launched and Barcelona, Lugo, Madrid, Ciudad Real, Lleida, Murcia or Valencia have also joined, although the list is growing day by day.
In the last week of September, there will be Tapamarathons in which the chefs will cook tapas with their students. Finally, there will also be a contest based on the celebration of World Tapa Day, which can be sent to the event website to be eligible for numerous prizes.
We are very happy to see that this World Tapas Day event, which we noticed for the first time on the occasion of its birth, is consolidated with this second edition, in which if we can, we will participate very actively.
